Hey, I’m Louise! I’m based in the leafy village of Headley Down in Hampshire, I pop back and forth between here and Amsterdam, where I am renovating a house with my Dutch fiancé (although shamefully I don’t speak Dutch, even after 7 years together!). I have a black rescue cat called Rossi, who follows me everywhere, and a tortoise called Chip (he has a chip on his shell). A neighbour gave him to me when I was 13 years old whilst I was taking my rabbit and guinea pig out for a walk – he is still going strong now! He is a little boring but the highlight is feeding him buttercups. I’m also addicted to jasmine tea, milk and cookies and Netflix.
My wedding photography style is a fusion of both photojournalism and fine art photography – I love the contrast between raw spontaneous moments set against beautifully composed portraits. While the portraits are one of my favourite parts of the day, I’ll never make you pose awkwardly. I document your day quietly and unobtrusively – you would hardly know I’m there, until you hit the dance floor, and then I throw myself into the thick of the action.
“I loved your unobtrusive approach and many of our guests did not even realise you were there. Our portraits are stunning and look so natural even though they were posed.”
I’ve been a full-time wedding photographer for seven years, and I couldn’t love it more. I love the freedom it gives me – using my camera as an excuse to talk to people, both at weddings and when I’m off on my travels. I love creating memories that will last generations, and capturing real heartfelt moments and connections between people.
Most of the weddings I shoot are relaxed outdoor weddings. Maybe it’s because like attracts like and I love the rolling countryside. I’m so in love with willow trees – my dream wedding would be a ceremony under a willow. The relaxed vibe of countryside weddings in a back garden or a field in the middle of nowhere makes me feel my happiest and most creative.
What sets me apart is my love of tangible photographs. Every one of my couples receives a box of prints as I feel it’s so important to have something from the day that you can touch and hold.
